The Ending of FF2US
After the demise of Zemus, and the hatred in him, Zeromus, everyone returns home. Edge heads to Eblan to work on the rebuilding of the castle. Yang becomes King of Fabul with his wife. Palom and Porom go back to their studies, while Palom gets extra homework for boasting about his adventures. Kain goes to Mt Ordeals to overcome his past, and surpase the skills of a Dragoon. Rosa and Cecil are getting married. Everyone seems content.
Rydia doesn't return to Mist. It is no where near the same place as when she was a child. The Callers are gone, and the town is filled with normal villagers. They still don't know what happened to the people of the mysterious fire.
She returns to her new home, the Land of Summoned Monsters. Much to the suprise of Leviathan and Asura, she stays with them. Asura and Leviathan had taught her so much, and now it was Rydia's turn to teach others what she had learned.
A small monster child came up to Rydia, and asks why she is different than everyone in the village. Her reply is that everyone is equal, it is what is in their hearts that count.
In another part of the world, Edge is thinking about Rydia. As the Chamberlain talks to him about rebuilding Eblan, his mind wanders to Rydia. A small heart appears above his head, and he walks out the door, with a spin in his step. Chamberlain follows him.
The wedding of Cecil and Rosa would happen soon, and everone had been invited. One person was missing....Kain. He was still at Mt Ordeals, proving himself.
Everyone else, however, walked into the main area of the castle, greeted Cecil, then Rosa, and returned to stand in their position. Rydia was the last to arrive, and she did the same thing as the others, but when she walked past Edge, he turned away. She stood next to him, but he wouldn't look at her. She walked to her spot near the door.
The entire room is in silence, and then they cheer.
